Converters running Liquid Electrophotography presses continue to seek ways to improve productivity, reduce waste, and simplify operational complexity. Sun Chemical continues to invest in primer technologies designed to support evolving packaging and label market requirements.
Sun Chemical’s primer portfolio includes solutions designed to deliver strong adhesion performance across a broad range of label and surface print applications. These products help converters achieve reliable print quality, operational efficiency, and application flexibility across multiple production environments.
Users benefit from clean laydown, low-foam operation, water-based cleanup, and dependable press performance, helping simplify day-to-day production.
In addition to Sun Chemical’s commercially available digital primer solutions for label applications, the company is continuing development of new technologies intended to expand application coverage, including advanced seamable primer concepts for shrink sleeve production. These innovations are currently being evaluated and are not yet broadly commercially available.
The technology aims to support full-width priming while maintaining downstream converting requirements, potentially reducing operational complexity and improving substrate utilization.
Development and evaluation activities are ongoing to validate performance across a range of customer workflows, substrates, and converting processes.
